Megan Fox says Memorial Day is about ‘honoring and remembering those that made the last word sacrifice’


Megan Fox has teamed up with Military veteran and proprietor of Redline Metal Colin Wayne to assist veterans for Memorial Day for the second 12 months in a row. 

The “Transformers” actress, 35, is working with the U.S. Military vet to assist elevate at the least $1 million in merchandise for the troops. Final 12 months, they raised over $2.5 million in merchandise. 

“Having the ability to team-up with Colin for a second 12 months in a row and his pledge of at the least $1 million in merchandise is an honor,” Fox instructed Fox Information in an announcement.

“Memorial Day is all about honoring and remembering those that made the last word sacrifice for our nation, and this give again is one I stand totally behind. I need to thank Colin for his service and persevering with to place individuals over revenue,” she added.

Wayne, who served three excursions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, mentioned teaming up with Fox was “wonderful.”

Wayne, 31, mentioned the aim in 2021 is to “surpass $1 million in product donations with our Soldier Memorial and to nationally deliver consciousness to the true that means behind Memorial Day.”

“As a veteran, Memorial Day is a very powerful federal vacation in existence and sadly has misplaced its true that means. Memorial Day is a day to honor those who paid the last word sacrifice for our nation. It is a day to honor the members of the family and family members which might be now not right here in order that we will have the numerous freedoms that we’ve got in America,” he mentioned.

As for what drew him to working with Fox, he is been appreciative of her dedication to veteran advocacy.

“I noticed that she went to South Korea to go to the troops, and I heard that voluntarily spent hours taking pictures and signing autographs for the troops stationed at that base,” he recalled.

Wayne added, “One of these selfless act actually resonated with me, and I revered her that rather more which in the end led to reaching out to her about our Memorial Day Giveback.”
